Mozilla Public LicenseThe Mozilla Public License (MPL) is a FLOSS software license that was developed by Mitchell Baker at Netscape Communications Corporation, and then further refined when Baker worked Baker worked at the Mozilla Foundation. The license has been approved by the Open Source Initiative as being compliant with their Open Source Definition, and by the Free Software Foundation. The MPL has been described as containing a mix of characteristics from the BSD and GPL licenses, but is not generally compatible with the GPL. The license is a weak copyleft license as although it requires source code that is copied or changed under the MPL must stay under the MPL, it does also allow linking to proprietary software.
